Discussion « Christian Orthodox funerary practices in Luxembourg », with Mariske Westendorp and Sonja Kmec (stand Memorial Cafe, hall 3)

Sonja Kmec (Assoc. Professor of history at the University of Luxembourg) and Mariske Westendorp (postdoc researcher in anthropology at the University of Groningen, Netherlands) are members of a European project on cemeteries and crematoria as public spaces of belonging in Europa (CeMi for short). In the project, a comparison is made between Luxembourg-city and other European towns. The project investigates how cultural and religious diversity is taken into account (or not) in cemeteries and crematoria. At the « Memorial Cafe » we offer, in a friendly setting, thematic discussions on the diversity of funeral practices in Luxembourg-city, as well as a creative workshop. All are invited. For more information, please see :  cemi-hera.org.
